Access Control


Access control can be implemented in a variety of ways, it can be used provide security by giving flexible control over who is allowed to enter a building or area and when, it can also be used to monitor who has had access to specific areas, and the exact time and duration. Fire alarm integration is also possible.
Access control can be insalled at any site, from small properties to apartment blocks and hotels, to large multi-site businesses.

Access control examples:

  • code entry keypads
  • magnetic swipe card readers
  • proximity key fobs
  • biometric fingerprint scanners
  • audio / video intercomm systems

Fire alarm intergration

Access control systems can work with a buildings fire alarm to meet part B of the Building regulations in the following ways;

Fire escapes: any 'controlled' doors in a building are released upon activation on a fire alarm, allowing occupants to exit the building as quickly as possible.

Roll Call generation: Proper implementation of door access in a building can allow the generation of reports, that can be used as a register to identify present or absent people at a muster point in event of a fire alarm.
